CERTIFICATE III IN SECURITY OPERATIONS CPP30411
The Certificate III in Security Operations
CPP30411 (Armed Guard) course covers the units required for licensing as an
Armed Guard to protect, watch or guard any property whilst being armed with a
firearm. This course teaches you the safe use of firearms, batons and handcuffs
and defensive tactics.
The Certificate III in Security
Operations CPP30411 (Cash in Transit) course is designed to train security
guards who wish to work in collection, transfer and/or delivery of cash or other
valuables. This course teaches you how to pre-plan your operations to avoid any
injury to yourself and others.
Please note: You can
choose to complete Armed Guard or Cash in Transit as individual courses, or
combined and conducted in conjunction with each other. It is a licensing
requirement that all security guards carrying out the activities of an Armed
Guard or Cash in Transit Officer complete the relevant qualification specific to
that activity as required by the duties conducted in their employment.
PREREQUISITES
All participants
must complete Certificate III
in Security Operations CPP30411
(Core Units)
or have applied for RPL for previous qualifications completed.
HLTFA301B Provide First Aid is also required to obtain a licence in Armed Guard
and Cash in Transit. This training is conducted separately to the above courses

BATON & HANDCUFF
(Baton & Handcuffs can be conducted as an individual course)
This component of
the course will enable the security officer to confidently
handle the baton and handcuffs. It is important to remember
that an officer must be trained in the proper usage of this
equipment; otherwise they will be illegally handling the
equipment and can be fined.
This component of the course will
train participants to perform the role of a cash in transit
officer including; CIT loading and unloading in an unsecured
environment and using, test and inspecting CIT security
equipment.
FIREARM
QUALIFICATION
(Firearms can be conducted as an individual course)
This component of
the course is designed to train armed security officers in the
correct application of their firearm.
Firearms re-qualification can also be
done using revolver, semi-automatic handguns.
Semi automatic is an extra $100.00
